I kid you not… New Wine for Seniors

Stellenbosch, Paarl & Franschhoek  vintners in the Cape  area, which primarily produce Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio wines, have developed a new hybrid grape that acts as an anti-diuretic.
It is expected to reduce the number of trips older people have to make to the bathroom during the night. The new wine will be marketed as PINO MORE.

Wine Aging

There have been a number of „Wine Aging Devices‟ around but a lot of them are more gimmicky. I just discovered the perfect one which I have been testing for a few months. It is called the Nuance Wine Aerator. It is a hands free tool that you insert into the wine bottle before serving. When you pour the wine, air is drawn into the wine through a system of 32 holes & screen.
Check it out in the Store for only $39.95. It is a great way to speed up the aging of your red wines at a reasonable cost and it is very easy to use too. And, the biggest benefit is that you will be enjoying your red wines much earlier.

Then I realized that it is not the big things that make life good it is all the small moments and activities. ……….. read here

After Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  After such a busy December, Astrid & I were able to leave the kids in charge of the house (talk about bravery) & we flew out on Boxing Day for a holiday.  A sort of second honeymoon and that’s all I’m going to say on that subject or I won’t make it to a third one.

We flew to Atlanta, Georgia & learned the 4 C’s of all you need to know about Atlanta.  They are: Civil War, Civil Rights, Coca Cola & CNN.  While touring the city, we went to the Martin Luther Jr. Museum & Memorial which was very inspiring.  I always thought the burning of Atlanta was a Civil War issue.  At least that was my impression watching ‘Gone with the Wind’.  But I realize after being there and finding it freezing cold and not the warm south that I expected, that the fire was a way for the soldiers to keep warm that just went wrong.  Astrid said that wasn’t nice of me, and I just did my Rhett Butler and replied “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”.  Guess making it to my third honeymoon may be getting iffy if I keep this up.

We also drove to Savannah and Charleston.  Two historical cities & most interesting.  Very little sense of humour though as they didn’t even smile when I asked could they do the dance.  All in all a fun 8 days.

We look forward to seeing you often this year and hope that 2010 is an Olympic year for you personally.
